The Brookings County Commission adopted a provisional 2027 budget on Sept. 1 after a brief public hearing and board discussion. Commission staff told the board the provisional budget presented was balanced across all funds and did not use reserves; the levy rate shows a small decrease from 3.921 in 2026 to 3.915 in 2027.
