The full story
On second reading council adopted Ordinance 6, Series 2026, repealing the 2010 edition of the model traffic code and adopting the 2024 edition by reference in Title 10 of the municipal code. Town counsel explained that several clarifications were made after deputy sheriff comments: town enforcement applies only to town‑posted no‑parking signs (not private property signage), duplicate code sections were removed, electric‑vehicle charging time limits were aligned with the model code (30 minutes rather than the town’s earlier 15‑minute proposal), and definitions for electric motors were added while electric motorcycles remain regulated the same as gas motorcycles under state law.
