Smith County appoints JR Rice assistant blade foreman with pay increase
The Smith County Commission unanimously approved moving JR Rice into the assistant blade foreman role with a $1.00/hour leadership pay increase after an executive session on personnel. Rice had discussed duties, chain of command and district oversight during the meeting.

The Smith County commissioners voted unanimously on Nov. 25 to move JR Rice into the role of assistant blade foreman with a pay increase for taking on leadership duties. Commissioner Jim Gwennap moved the appointment and Commissioner Dale Pickel seconded; the motion carried without objection.
