Committee approves downtown closure for Walmart Associate Week setup

Representatives of the Walmart Museum told the Traffic Signing Safety Committee they will need an extended closure of North Main Street between Central and 2nd to stage associate tours and set up outdoor tents and merchandise for Shareholders and Associate Week. Kurt Templeton said the change (starting Sunday night at 6 p.m. for setup and continuing through the week) will let organizers serve roughly 6,000 associates downtown. "We will be able to serve all 6,000 Walmart associates," Templeton said on the record.
