ECGRA announced a $100,000 Renaissance Grant for Union City for 2026–2027; the council was told this will be the final year for certain streets and that Putnam Street, portions of Main Street, East High Street and Route 97 will be added to the project area.

Council received notice that ECGRA will award Union City $100,000 under the Renaissance Grant for 2026–2027. Borough Manager Cindy Wells told council that this will be the last year for South Street, West High Street and the Avenues to participate and that ECGRA requested an expansion of the grant area; Putnam Street will be added along with North and South Main Street, East High Street and Route 97 up to the borough line.
