ECCD outlines expanded Beyond Lawn rebate structure; Gypsum has funded turf conversions

Eagle County Conservation District presented the Beyond Lawn program and a restructured 2027 rebate (max $500 per household). Staff reported Gypsum has approved seven turf-replacement rebates totaling 21,078 sq ft and $27,000 in awards, with roughly $23,000 remaining in town-designated funds.

Laura Bohannon, executive director of the Eagle County Conservation District, and horticulture specialist Ryan Vilar presented the Beyond Lawn program’s objectives — water-wise landscaping, irrigation-efficiency upgrades, fire-wise landscaping and biodiversity — and previewed a new 2027 residential rebate structure designed to reach more households. They said the new program will cap residential rebates at $500 per household per year and expand eligible actions to irrigation efficiency, turf conversion, revegetation and stormwater retention.
