Election commissioner says bills revised; county backs changes to provisional verification and precinct rules

Lancaster County Election Commissioner Todd Wilchin briefed the board on election-related bills (white-copy amendment to LB884, cleanup bill LB1075 and license-plate bill LB1092). The board moved to neutral on LB884, supported LB1075, and authorized testimony on LB1092; commissioners authorized staff testimony and designees to appear.

Todd Wilchin, Lancaster County election commissioner, updated the board Feb. 10 on multiple election-related bills appearing at an upcoming Legislature hearing. Wilchin said earlier concerns about what the transcript recorded as "LB884" were resolved in a white-copy amendment after meetings with Senator Anderson and that county election administrators will take a neutral position and the election commissioner was authorized to testify to that effect.
