Bonner County commissioners on Sept. 1 voted to remove two Northwest Auto Body estimates — $9,387.99 and $10,422.53 — from the consent agenda after commissioners raised concerns about large, undefined "miscellaneous" line items on repair estimates for sheriff's office vehicles. Christian Dawson, the county's risk manager, told the board the amounts in question were estimates and that the county carries a $10,000 deductible for auto claims: "We do have a deductible at 10,000 for auto," he said, explaining the difference between an initial estimate and a final claim.
