CNG engineers said the utility evaluates new or expanded service requests by inserting projected loads into hydraulic models and testing performance on a defined "peak day," typically the coldest winter period. The model determines whether existing infrastructure can serve the additional load or if upgrades — funded in part by the customer or developer — are required.
