Neighbors press developer for traffic calming and parking solutions around Mateo Miller Circle

Several residents said traffic and parking are the meeting’s top concerns and asked the applicant and staff to present concrete mitigation when the project returns for formal review. Multiple commenters described the Mateo Miller Circle curve as a “blind turn” and urged calming measures (raised speed humps, centerline striping and improved sightlines) before any construction begins.

Resident Hiro Trueney told the commission he had met with the applicant and emphasized safety for children and daily visibility at the turn. “That corner, the Mateo Circle North right turn… that is a serious concern,” he said. Other residents asked whether the nine‑lot HOA would join the existing Neighborhood 5 association so new units could access the 27 nearby guest spaces; the applicant said such integration would require the existing HOA’s vote but that the project team is open to it. Commissioners asked the applicant to provide a traffic analysis and proposed traffic‑calming options for staff review.
