The Albemarle County Architecture Review Board on Aug. 31 approved an initial site plan (SDP-20266600) for a proposed development of about 148 multifamily units and townhouses at roughly 600 Rye Road West, approximately 400 feet west of Bergmar Drive. The board’s motion forwarded staff recommendations with added language requiring sufficient planting area for entrance‑corridor (EC) frontage and asking staff and the applicant to consider removing or realigning a nearby cul‑de‑sac to improve building setbacks and landscaping.
