The Hardee County commission authorized a short, as‑needed advisory contract with outgoing County Manager Terry Ashley on June 30 to assist the incoming manager through the transition. A motion to offer a contract at $125 per hour for a 90‑day term starting July 5, 2026, was moved, seconded and approved unanimously.
