At an April work session county planning officials presented a draft of proposed changes to the conditional‑use permit (CUP) process. Key suggestions included removing the five‑acre automatic CUP threshold for certain actions, exempting modular or stick‑built homes on lots of one acre or larger from a CUP when specific zoning and health requirements are met, and refining notice, inspection and public‑hearing steps.
