County Administrator Lucas Goff told commissioners there have been several property-damage claims filed against the county this year and proposed developing a more consistent filing process. Goff said that if a claimant files a claim with their insurance company first they can be penalized even when not at fault; commissioners asked staff to design a process similar to the Kansas Department of Transportation's property-damage claim process.
