Historic Preservation Commission reports grant awards and National Register listing
The Linn County Historic Preservation Commission reported a $28,800 round of preservation grants, kiosk replacements on the Lincoln Highway and approval of the Kalinski Farmland Historic District listing on the National Register of Historic Places (01/29/2025); staff will route the certification form through civil counsel before signature.

Brad Willem, Planning & Development staff liaison to the Linn County Historic Preservation Commission, presented the commission's 2025 certified local government (CLG) annual report. Willem highlighted kiosk replacement work along the Lincoln Highway and a successful preservation-grant year that awarded $28,800 to local organizations, noting outreach to nonprofits that had not applied previously. He also reported that the Kalinski Farmland Historic District on Ivanhoe Road east of Ely was approved and listed in the National Register of Historic Places on Jan. 29, 2025.
