The full story

The St. Maries Fire District Fire Chief told the Harrison City Council the district currently requires burn permits within St. Maries city limits, issues permits only after a site inspection, requires permits to be kept on site while burning and limits permits to up to ten days; burning may also be restricted for fire danger or air quality. Council members heard the presentation during the meeting’s guest-speaker segment and were told the fire district would cooperate if Harrison moves forward with amending its open-burning code.
