The board voted to postpone formal adoption of the high‑school social science curriculum so the district can align the adoption timeline with its work to implement Senate Bill 3 personal‑finance requirements. Heidi Lascher, who presented the item, said the adoption team’s capacity was fully occupied by SB 3 planning and that a postponement gives the district up to two years under Oregon Department of Education rules to complete adoption.
