Committee reports a package of building‑code updates and continuations
The committee reported favorably on a suite of building-code regulations: updates to the International Plumbing Code, the South Carolina Residential Code, the 2023 National Electric Code adoption, fire, fuel‑gas and mechanical code continuations and a table correction in the mechanical code. Most items were continuations with limited additions requested by trade groups.

The Labor, Commerce and Industry Committee considered a package of building-code regulations and reported them favorably. Staff explained the state periodically adopts model codes (international and national codes) and that most of the items before the committee were continuations of existing state modifications with limited technical additions.
