Committee refines student leadership program selection process, leaves numbers flexible
The Administration Committee reviewed revisions to the Student Leadership Development Program SOP, removed a service-learning requirement after student feedback, discussed nomination and tie-break procedures and whether to require one student per high school, and forwarded the SOP to the consent agenda.

Janet Brown told the committee the student leadership SOP had been revised and the service-learning project removed after feedback that students did not find it meaningful. "We did, take out the service learning project just because the students who had participated in the program... said it wasn't meaningful to them," Brown said, and she described the SOP as governing selection rather than curriculum.
