Court extends moratorium on zoning amendment affecting solar rules through Nov. 30, 2026
The fiscal court approved a moratorium, explained by councilor Burley, to allow further research and a public transcript from OMPC before finalizing amendments to the Owensboro Metropolitan Zoning Ordinance; the extension runs through 11/30/2026.

Councilor Burley read the ordinance's explanatory "whereas" clauses and said the amendment to the Owensboro Metropolitan Zoning Ordinance requires additional time for review. He told the court, "Now we're determined that section 4 needs to be amended again to provide additional time for research review and determine future application of that amendment," and recommended placing a moratorium until Nov. 30, 2026.
