Board agrees by consensus to remove three dead pines, notes issues on Fairway Green Drive

District Engineer Kurt Heath told the Board he inspected Fairway Green and removed fallen trees near Heritage Point Drive and reported three dead pine trees that need removal. The minutes state the cost to remove them is "$250 per tree," and the Board reached a consensus to authorize their removal.

Chair Kathleen Lonergan also reported that the recently completed project at Fairway Green Drive and Hidden Pines Way "has issues," which the Board flagged for follow-up. During the audience-comments portion, resident Nicholas Pedota raised concerns about vines growing up trees behind his home and asked whether those trees had been inspected; the minutes note it can be cheaper to remove pines than to remove vines.

A resident also asked how much the CDD has in reserves. District Manager Chuck Adams responded that the CDD "does not have a capital reserve in the same sense as an Association would have, but the CDD has surplus Fund Balance with funds assigned to three categories, plus unassigned fund balance." The minutes do not specify dollar amounts or a formal reserve policy.
