The Pinal County Board held a work session on Sept. 2 to review a proposed Major Comprehensive Plan Amendment for the Rosebud Energy Project (case PZ-PA-012-26). Jordan Rose of Rose Law Group presented the request on behalf of landowner Nissan North America Inc.; the proposal would re-designate approximately 512 acres from Employment to Green Energy Production to enable a utility-scale photovoltaic solar facility and battery energy storage system north of Teel Road and near the Ak Chin Indian Community and the City of Maricopa.
