MPO adopts draft TIP; members press FDOT on SR 200 bridge and inter‑district coordination

The board adopted the draft Transportation Improvement Program for FY2027–2031 after public review. Commissioners raised concerns about a State Road 200 bridge project that could deliver additional lanes into a two-lane roadway and urged FDOT coordination across district lines.

The Hernando Citrus MPO board adopted the draft Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for fiscal years 2027–2031 and authorized MPO staff to coordinate further with FDOT on any revisions. The draft TIP incorporates federal, state and local funding and reflects the recently updated LOP and programmed projects. Staff noted the TIP displays full project costs and, for the next five years, about $300 million in projects requiring federal approval (smaller than the current FY26 figure because some previous turnpike funds are not repeated).
