Commission approves precinct split, facility floor plan and personnel pay changes

At the Jan. 22 meeting the commission approved several administrative items: a motion by Commissioner Stolipher approved splitting precinct 19 (St. James Catholic Church) alphabetically into precincts 19A and 19B; Laura Kuhn (Fleet & Facilities) presented and the commission approved the final floor plan design for the Jefferson County Government Center at 393 North Lawrence Street; and Sheriff Tom Hansen's recommended bailiff pay changes were approved—Douglas Pittinger's hourly rate increased to $22.52 and Romelda Porter was promoted with pay increased to $20.50 per hour, all effective Jan. 26, 2026.
