Board approves $2.77 million low bid for 7-mile R77 resurfacing project

Hamilton County authorized the county engineer to sign a contract for a 7-mile resurfacing project on R77, which will extend from the Story County line north to Highway 175. The project scope presented includes milling the top 3 inches of existing surface, placing a 1-inch interlayer and additional HMA lifts for a total new pavement depth of 4 inches, plus pipeline repairs at approximately 22 crossroad locations. The engineer said the work will occur this summer and that the road will remain open with traffic control by flaggers.
