MMPC sets public-comment schedule and 67% municipal approval threshold for draft Materials Management Plan

Clinton County's MMPC set a schedule: July 14 approval of the draft to begin a 60-day public comment period, an August 25 public hearing, and an Oct. 13 possible final MMPC approval; municipalities will have a 120-day review and the plan requires 67% municipal approval to go to the state.

Kate Neese, Clinton County's waste-management coordinator and the committee's designated planning-agency representative, outlined a timeline for completing the Materials Management Plan. The committee will meet July 14 in the Board of Commissioners Room to approve the draft that will go out for a 60-day public-comment period; a public hearing is scheduled for Aug. 25, and the MMPC may approve a final version Oct. 13 before recommending it to the Board of Commissioners.
