Drainage improvements cleared by SFWMD and VOE; bid documents finalized for contractors

Charlie Krebs told the board that the drainage improvements project has received approvals from the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and construction permits from the Village of Estero (VOE). He said the bid documents are finalized and ready for contractors to pick up, and the board discussed advertising, the bid-opening meeting and timing of a mandatory pre-construction meeting.

Staff and board members discussed project timing in relation to hurricane season and flood-prevention goals; Mrs. Adams directed that consideration of drainage improvement bids be included on the April agenda. "The bid documents have been finalized and are ready for the contractors to pick up," Krebs said, and the board asked staff to coordinate advertisement and a bid-opening date.
