On Aug. 24 the Stephenville ISD Board approved a property tax rate of $0.8467 per $100 valuation, a decrease of $0.0401. The rate breaks down to $0.6543 for Maintenance & Operations and $0.1924 for Principal and Interest on debts.

The Stephenville Independent School District Board of Education voted unanimously on Aug. 24 to set the 2026–2027 property tax rate at $0.8467 per $100 of taxable valuation. The motion, made by Mr. Matt Miller and seconded by Mr. Donny Hill, passed with all seven board members recorded as voting in favor.
