TRC conditionally clears Camp Definiak RV expansion; health permits still pending

Camp Definiak (MIN26000038) — a proposal to add 17 RV parking spaces on ~22.84 acres — was reviewed by Jesus Navarro and the TRC conditionally approved the project pending outstanding technical comments and state health permits.

Applicant Jamie Eubanks (Jenkins Engineering) said the design changes did not alter the layout and that the team addressed comments on campsite size, septic connections and well connections. Navarro noted that health‑department approval remains key because the project uses city of Defuniak Springs water and sewer service but otherwise triggers state permits; the county may not withhold a development order solely because a state permit is pending, but health permits must be provided at preconstruction. The TRC voted to move the item forward with conditions that outstanding comments be addressed and state permits be verified at preconstruction.
