Village to replace 9-1-1 workstations; state grant covers cost

Supervisor of Communications Brian Weiss told the Committee of the Whole that the telecommunication consoles purchased in 2002 are outdated and hard to maintain, and recommended replacement consoles from vendor XYBIX at a proposed purchase price of $122,805.11. Weiss said he has secured a State of Illinois grant for $308,000 that will cover the cost of the proposed consoles and the remaining grant funds will cover the final payment for a multi-agency Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) software grant administered last year.
