District urges community to consider support roles beyond classroom teaching

A staff member told listeners that many people default to thinking about classroom teachers when considering work in schools, but the district needs a range of support roles. "A lot of people, when they think of schools and serving students, they think of teachers in the classroom. But there's a lot of ways for a person to serve our community and serve our students," the staff member said.
