Council deadlocks 3-3 on fee-resolution updates; mayor votes to delay

A proposal to update the fee resolution to recover actual inspection and plan-review costs failed on a 3-3 tie after debate about justification and comparative analysis; Mayor Lepin voted against proceeding and staff will return the item at a March 31 special meeting.

Public Works Director Jeff Hurd and Community Development Director Nicholas Snead presented updates to the fee resolution intended to achieve full cost recovery for inspections and plan reviews and to include actual consultant costs when outside resources are used. Councilor Thomas pointed out a typographical error that listed '11$3.42' and asked it be corrected to '$3,142.'
