Byron engineer, public works report progress on streets, sewer lining and WWTP schedule

City Engineer Jason Stoll reported the slurry seal was nearly complete, HMA overlay work will begin in coming weeks, sanitary sewer lining jetting is complete, and the watermain bid was submitted to HUD; Public Works reported sale of an excess truck for $5,050 and a WWTP groundbreaking expected around Labor Day.

City Engineer Jason Stoll updated the Byron City Council on Aug. 19 about several public-works projects. He said the slurry seal program was nearly complete and that hot-mix asphalt overlay work would begin in the next few weeks; he also said the sanitary sewer lining jetting is complete and pre-inspection video is under review prior to submission to Fehr Graham. Stoll told the council the Various Watermain project bid previously awarded to Kelsey Excavating has been submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for review and introduced Fehr Graham senior project manager Matt Heckman, who will assist with the Constellation sewer extension project.
