During the Aug. 18 meeting, representatives from multiple outside agencies presented 2027 appropriation requests to the Douglas County Board. Presentations and requested amounts included: Douglas Soil & Water Conservation District $321,255 (Jerry Haggenmiller); Alexandria Economic Development Commission $60,638 (Nicole Fernholz); Viking Library System & Douglas County Library $150,439 (Erin Smith and Dawn Dailey); Douglas County Historical Society $40,000 (Brittany Johnson); Rainbow Rider $27,866.19 (Brenda Brittin); and numerous other community organizations and agencies.
