Secretary Dana Simpson reported on the June 30, 2025 Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Zoom meeting with representatives from Londonderry, Penn, East Nottingham, Upper Oxford and Oxford Borough. The study is in Phase 1 (feasibility); Oxford Borough currently operates the only police department among the five participants. Chief Kirshner is working with Chief Simpson on behalf of DCED and will request additional township data—using 2020 Census figures, road miles and current PSP call data—to support the feasibility analysis. Phase 2 would offer technical assistance for implementation, and municipalities may withdraw if they choose not to pursue regionalization.
