City staff proposed edits to Chapter 220 of the Municipal Code at the July 6 meeting to address ongoing issues with climbing on buildings and trees and to clarify permitted locations for scooters, skateboards and electric bicycles. City Administrator Nikki Finkbiner summarized the draft amendments and said staff also recommends creating a definition for "Motorized Play Vehicles" to capture motorized/electric skateboards, motorized scooters, hoverboards and go-carts.
