County IT reports progress on Windows 11 rollout, network upgrades and access-control replacement
Cayuga County IT said Windows 11 is installed on over 80% of endpoints, county-wide fiber and network upgrades are underway or complete at several sites, and door access control systems are being replaced with Verkada to integrate cameras and visitor management.

Tom Bunn (Information Technology) reported that Windows 11 has been deployed to "over 80% of our fleet" and that additional hardware purchases are required to complete the upgrade and maintain the device replacement cycle. IT provided an anticipated completion of the Windows 11 project in January 2026.
