Council authorizes $1.19 million SMART transportation contract to support senior services

The Taylor City Council approved a contract for SMART transportation services in the amount of $1,190,138 covering the 2026–27 contract period. Staff explained that SMART funds roughly 90% of senior center transportation; the SMART portion paid to the city this year was described as $190,138 that will fund transportation to grocery stores, dialysis and medical appointments.
