Pierce board accepts two trustee resignations, declares vacancies
At a Nov. 20 special meeting the Pierce Board of Trustees accepted resignations from Trustees Dill and Herrick and formally declared vacancies; the motions passed after roll-call votes and will require appointment or election to fill the seats.

Mayor Cathy Ortiz opened the Nov. 20 special meeting of the Town of Pierce Board of Trustees and the board moved quickly to act on two trustee resignations. Trustee Geoffery Broughton moved to accept Trustee Dill’s resignation and formally declare the vacancy; Trustee Larry VanWhy seconded. A roll-call vote recorded three "AYES" and one "NAYE" from Trustee Julie Lukela, and the motion passed.
