Marty reports 27% ridership increase since going fare-free

Martin County’s Marty transit system reported a 27% year-over-year ridership increase after eliminating fares in November 2025, with prior-year figures around 120,000 rides and a projected 150,000 rides this year.

On the 2 MC podcast, Marty transit administrator Ash Beecher attributed recent ridership growth to a combination of fare-free service and service improvements: ‘‘Since removing the fares in November 2025, we've seen ... a 27% increase in ridership, over the year for Marty, which is excellent.’'
