The Conklin Planning Board reviewed a March 2025 rezoning request to allow a cemetery at 70 Schofield Rd (Tax Map 194.03-1-44). The full story

The Conklin Planning Board on March 17, 2025 considered a Town Board–requested recommendation on a rezoning application that would change 70 Schofield Rd (Tax Map 194.03-1-44) from R-15 to Agricultural-Rural to permit a cemetery. The application, dated 2/13/2025, was reviewed by the Broome County Department of Planning and Economic Development in a 239 referral dated 3/14/2025, which recommended denial as submitted because the rezoning was tied to specific cemetery plans and raised potential county-wide and intercommunity impacts under General Municipal Law Section 239-1.
