Council amends trash-placement rules, reopens hearing for public comment
Trappe Council voted unanimously to narrow allowable trash set-out times in Ordinance 6-2025 and reopened the public hearing to accept comment through the Nov. 5 meeting.

Trappe Town Council on Oct. 1 amended Ordinance 6-2025 to restrict when residents may place refuse at the curb. Commissioner Brian Schmidt moved that containers may be set out no earlier than 2:00 p.m. on the day before collection and must be removed from the street by 8:00 p.m. on collection day; Commissioner Michael Sullivan seconded and the amendment passed unanimously.
