The Elko County Commission voted to appoint Joe McNeil to the local Planning Commission to fill a vacancy created when a commissioner resigned to take private-sector employment. Corey Rice, the county surveyor and senior planner, told the board the planning commission reviewed applications and recommended McNeil; the board then moved and approved the appointment by voice vote.
