The full story
The Davison County Planning Commission voted Aug. 4 to recommend approval of a variance requested by Ryan and Amy Storm to split an old homestead from surrounding agricultural land. The application would create a roughly 7.153-acre lot from an original ~17.847-acre tract in the Agricultural District (minimum lot size is 25 acres) and seeks several setback reductions: a front-yard setback reduction to 60 feet where 75 feet is required, a side-yard adjustment for grain bins to 20 feet where 50 feet is required, and a rear-yard reduction to about 2 feet for a shed where 50 feet is required. The applicants were present; Deputy Administrator Karen Wegleitner explained the purpose was to transfer ownership of the homestead to the applicants’ son.
