Superintendent Lance Bagstad told the Park Rapids Area School Board on March 23 that the district is confronting sharp state-level budget changes that could reduce funding for programs serving students with additional needs. "They cut $300 million out of our Special Education Budget," Bagstad said as he summarized the governor's recently released budget publication and noted that promised compensatory 'hold harmless' protections have not appeared.
