District launches Beanstack reading challenge; librarians set 2,000-minute student goal

Diana Coby, the district’s lead librarian, described a district and community reading initiative using the Beanstack platform. She said campuses will set goals by enrollment and the district’s initial student target is 2,000 minutes per student this year (roughly 15 minutes per day), with a district-wide target of 1,000,000 minutes. "We're asking students this year to read 2000 minutes," Coby said, and she outlined monthly incentives, a superintendent challenge and an end-of-year recognition plan.
