Board declines further spending on stop-sign lighting; vendor experiment unsuccessful

AV-Tech’s attempt to control stop-sign brightness failed; board opted not to buy timer-equipped signs after hearing that the experiment was unsuccessful and that the existing four signs have cost $9,280 to date.

Operations Manager Shane Willis reported that AV-Tech’s experiment to control the brightness of stop-sign lights was unsuccessful and that the vendor would not modify the installed signs. Willis said the choices were to leave the existing signs as installed and manage lighting as needed, or to purchase replacement signs with timers. Willis also reported the overall cost to date for the four stop signs was $9,280 ($2,320 per sign), as shown in the unaudited financials.
