Council approves Lakeside sludge removal application; developer to cover costs
The Council approved a permit application to haul sludge from the Lakeside plant to Easton Utilities; the developer is financially responsible for related costs and the permit must name both the Town and Trappe East on the discharge permit. The approval was unanimous.

James Cook of Rauch explained that sludge from the Lakeside wastewater plant must be hauled to Easton Utilities every six to eight months and that the town’s current permit allows sludge to be hauled to Trappe but not from Trappe to Easton. Because both the Town and Trappe East appear on the discharge permit, the submitted application must list both names. The developer is financially responsible for any associated costs.
