Jenn Rowden (listed in the transcript as "RCPC") told the Board that a change to the state's ADU law "says it now can be used as a detached ADU if it existed before July 1, 2025," but that long-unused structures or those needing extensive work may not qualify. Paul Cardone asked a clarifying question about parking; Rowden said "the same parking requirements of one parking spot remains in place." The Board did not adopt a policy at the meeting but discussed options for applying the statutory change locally.
