Smith County clarifies benefit repayment, CDL physicals and other operational items

At the Jan. 12 meeting Clerk Ashley Maxwell asked the board to clarify the county's benefit repayment policy and CDL physical policy. The board agreed that repayment calculations should be based on a 40-hour week (previously based on an 80-hour pay period). The board also said it will cover the cost of an employee's initial CDL physical; subsequent CDL maintenance costs are the employee's responsibility.
